It is! It's a creature I call a mulkwyrm—they're normally just caterpillar sized, and when they eat all the atmospheric magic in an area they metamorphise to lay their eggs somewhere else so their offspring can feed. If it makes its way to the Pathways, though, it can feed off the overwhelming amounts of magic for pretty much forever, and they can grow to giant sizes!
